Although I tend to advise people to stick to the publishing order when reading the Discworld books for the first time (to give an even spread and introduction to all the various characters and locations) I've realised I don't actually stick to that order myself. For each of the different groups of characters I always read the first two books in pairs, for example. I will admit that sometimes I skip books entirely (for example The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic) and sometimes I've just not really felt in the mood for one of the more stand alone books so I would leave it and come back to it. And on the other end of the spectrum, there are books that I can't wait to get to, so I skip ahead a few books in order to read it - and then have to go back and catch back up properly. The one I'm most guilty of this with is, of course, Small Gods. I always read that first, it's my favourite book and the perfect way to get me back onto the Disc.

Below is my personal preferred reading order:

Where did the last week go? I thought I'd updated more recently, but nope!

I'm feeling really on edge today. I'm in a bad mood but don't know why, which is putting me in a worse mood. I sort of feel like crying and I'm really easily frustrated. I'm probably due my period, but knowing the cause doesn't make the effects feel any less shit!

Oh well.

Yes, really. There was a gas explosion in a top floor flat in the town centre - down the Shambles, no less! That little alleyway opposite my work! It's actually quite frightening seeing the pictures (it's still cordoned off) - it's one thing to read 'roof and exterior wall blown off' and another to actually see a picture of it. Apparently a chap got blasted out of the window - top floor so third storey - and has been transferred to the specialist burns unit in Swansea with serious facial burns. Our office building is really old (we have a blue plaque because Oliver Cromwell stayed here in 1649 when it was an inn) and has already got a laundry list of problems so I must admit I'm a little uneasy. There's no way the building manager would pay to have the gas inspected though so we're just going to have to hope for the best!

Ever see a picture that speaks to you on an emotional level, that you feel you can truly relate to, but you can't quite pinpoint why?

Yup, updating again. Nope, still no GIAN review. Suffice to say it rocked, my camera got nicked, broken and sent to lost property, so I at least have my pictures (there'll be a few up soon), and Zeke basically saved mine and Kirsty's lives after we had to cancel our also stolen bank cards...

Anyway, the main point of this update is OMG LAST DAY OF SCHOOL EVER TOMORROW!

*Is sad*

And then I'm hopping across the Wales for Fall Out Boy, yay!

Oh! And almost forgot! Cina's book (The pocket book of pirates) is out on July 1st, whee! And the sequel will be a guide to being emo, which I'm determined to have a hand in!
